The Brewery Running Series started in Minneapolis, MN in 2012. Co-founders Nate Herrington and Morgan Jappe joined forces to start a series of events combining their favorite things – being active, drinking beer, and supporting their community.
The Oregon Brewery Running Series is locally owned and operated by Portland and Vancouver residents – Nathan Freeburg and Drew Klinsing. They are the masterminds behind the Oregon/Washington schedule and at the helm of ensuring everyone has a great run/walk, delicious beer, and a fun experience!
2023 will be the 8th year Drew and Nathan have been enjoying beer run fun in Oregon and SW Washington.
Nathan started running when he was 14 years old. Nearly 30 years later, he’s still going strong. When he’s not running, he enjoys exploring the city with his son, reading books with his daughters, finding new restaurants with his wife, traveling, or backpacking. He loves hazy IPA’s, good pizza, and strong coffee.
Drew is a self proclaimed "novice" at so many things, soccer, basketball, baseball, stand up paddle boarding, camping…you get the picture. One thing he is not a novice at is the Pacific Northwest. Drew and his family love living in the Portland area and exploring all there is to offer especially the breweries that saturate our great area.
Across all our events - participants walk / jog / run a 5k course and then drink beer. It's just that simple!
Everyone is invited to enjoy the day’s entertainment: live music, food trucks, giveaways and activities with partners and sponsors, and all finishers get a FREE craft brew and collectors pint glass or seasonal swag item.Icing on the cake? A portion of all proceeds goes to benefit local non-profits.

Ambassadors are passionate about being active, having fun, and giving back!
Dedicated team players who are willing to go the extra mile to help our runners have a great experience; and enthusiastic about sharing their experiences with others.As a Brand Ambassador you would volunteer at our events, spread the word about BRS, and help recruit additional volunteers and participants. As part of the BRS team, we’d hook you up with some great swag, craft beer, and race entries for you and your friends!
