A NOTE TO OUR COMMUNITY
We acknowledge the events that have been occurring in our city and country. We stand by justice, peace, and equality, and always have.
Our goals as a local business, and as a team of individuals are to:
- Share positivity and light whenever, and however we are able
- Continue to support our community; to us that means YOU – our participants, our MN Breweries, our fellow small business partners and our nonprofit organizations
- Explore new ways to live out our mission to be active, have fun and give back, with emphasis on the latter.
We won’t pretend running can “fix” the world right now. Global pandemics and systemic racial inequality are very big, very real problems. What we do know is – our ability to be active supports physical and mental health in our day to day lives. And by doing so together, we feel a sense of community and belonging. And that matters.
Since day 1, our mission is to BE ACTIVE, HAVE FUN & GIVE BACK
Our goal is to bring people together to share a fun experience!
We encourage each other, we support our fellow local businesses, and we donate a portion of all proceeds back to local nonprofit organizations that do some great work in our communities (10%-100% depending on the event).
We believe equal human rights is a no brainer.
We also understand the running community (and our fellow brewing community) is predominately white. We’re working to see what we can do to help change that. This is no small task, but to start, we’ve joined the Running Industry Diversty Coalition to open the discussion. We aim to open our network to new partners and organizations to learn and brainstorm what we need to do to be a leader in our community to not only raise awareness, but to foster change.
Check out this recent article about our new friends at the Brewing Change Collaborative, bringing diversity to the Twin Cities brewery scene.
Our goal is to celebrate every finish line, and we want EVERYONE to feel welcome!
Let each day be a reminder that together, we can create lasting change. Life is BREWtiful!
WHAT IS THE BREWERY RUNNING SERIES?/ running. beer. fun.
Co-founders Nate Herrington and Morgan Jappe joined forces to start a series of events combining their favorite things – being active, drinking beer, and supporting their community. Turns out, a few thousand other MN locals share those same interests! Since their inaugural event at Fulton Brewery in 2012, the structure remains the same. Participants walk / jog / run a 5k course and then drink beer. It’s that simple! Everyone is invited to enjoy the day’s entertainment: live music, food trucks, giveaways and activities with partners and sponsors, and all finishers get a FREE craft brew and collectors pint glass or seasonal swag item. Icing on the cake? A portion of all proceeds goes to benefit local non-profits. Nate and Morgan are thrilled to partner with even more great craft breweries this year and expand the series throughout the state.
JOIN OUR BRAND AMBASSADOR PROGRAM!
Ambassadors are passionate about being active, having fun, and giving back!; dedicated team players who are willing to go the extra mile to help our runners have a great experience; and enthusiastic about sharing their experiences with others. As a Brand Ambassador you would volunteer at our events, spread the word about BRS, and help recruit additional volunteers and participants. As part of the BRS team, we’d hook you up with some great swag, craft beer, and race entries for you and your friends!
VOLUNTEER AT OUR EVENTS!
Every event we need a group of volunteers to help check-in participants, setup, cheer along the running course, and other misc details! Volunteers get rewarded with smiles from our participants, Beer, and cheers! Time commitment is 1hr prior to the start of the run, for a 2hr duration total.
Apply for our internship program
Are you passionate about running and non-profits? Are you interested in gaining event promotion and planning experience? We are seeking three interns to join our team from March 11 to May 31 to help plan and execute our events, as well as assist with community relations, merchandising, and marketing.
